WELCOME TO BLOGGING

Hi! Welcome to English 1102. As part of the English class, we will be working on blogs. This will help you to practice your English in a different, and hopefully, a fun way. Throughout the quarter you will be required to comment on my blog entries. This will make up 20% of your final grade.

Points will be given for your effort. No points will be deducted for errors. However, points will be deducted for incomplete work, late entries or work not done by you. Remember, this is just another way to practice English so do the entry by yourself.

At the end of each blog, a due date will be posted. Each blog is worth 10 points. If the entry is late (up to 3 days), you will only get 5 points. Entries posted later than 3 days will NOT be counted.

Hope you enjoy this experience.

  1. Questions:

    1. Have you already filled out the census? Yes or No?

    Yes

    2. What race did you mark or write down? Why?

White, because I considered I'm white.

    3. What do you think most Puerto Ricans will mark as their race?

    I think white.

    4. How do you think this controversy can be solved?

Putting all the races or the colors in the Census.

    5. Do you think it makes a difference or that it is important? Why or why not?

For my no, because all we are equal.

    6. What did you learn from reading the article?

I think that in some aspects these people interviewed are right, since were other countries like for example Alaska that asked to him if he were Indian or natural. Why for the Puerto Ricans they could not do the same. Since in Puerto Rico there are diverse mixtures of races.
